Randy Gates has a Master's degree in Environmental Education/Curriculum
Development with a focus of teaching about sustainability. In addition he
has attained a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Environmental
Philosophy. Having worked at several outdoor environmental education
centers and the Student Conservation Association has provided him
experience working with many diverse age groups.
He has studied earthen construction under master builder Ianto Evans of Cob
Cottage Company and spent time
apprenticing under Chilean master builder, Sergio Andrade, who specializes
in fusing unmilled roundwood with earthen construction.
Randy has facilitated workshops and contracted on Cobwood, straw/clay,
earthen plastering, roundwood carpentry and earthen floors.
